Z129 or Z134 Engine Which is it?

Is it possible the engine on my TO35 had been switched out for a Z129 at some time? Why I am asking this is because the plate on the engine that should have the serial # and engine info is missing; on the lower engine block cast #'s are Z1__A60 (looks like the 29 could of been ground off); and finally when I took off the oil pan it has a Z129 cast on the bottom. It runs fine so at this time I will not be tearing down the engine. Is the any way to tell the two engine apart from the outside? And is it even possible the engines could of been switched? Could be the oil pan was a used replacement from a 129 and the others could of been just coincidence. As far as the rest of the tractor all badges are 35's the Serial #plate on steering column is to35. Thanks Terry

You raise an interesting question. I have three Fergusons with Z134 engines. Two of them have engine casting numbers of Z134 A600 P. the third one is Z134 A500 0. All three have cast oil pans. I don't know if the oil pans are interchangeable. The Z129 engine had a sheet metal pan. My TO-35 has an oil pan with the same casting number as yours.

My guess is that you do have a Z134.
