I have a cyclic "clack" sound in my rear left wheel that occurs in the same rotation point in the wheel. I removed the tire and turned the axle and no sound was heard with the tractor up on a jack. Could this be a bad bearing? If so how do I remave the axle"

I have heard a similr noise when the bolts that hold the wheel centre to the rim work loose. You get a slight movement when the weight goes on it. Just a possibilty maybe.

Might just be something related to the brake shoes. Remove the drum and check that first. Sometimes the screws holding the drum are hard to get out. A hand impact wrench often works. Soak them with PB Blaster. If you have to drill them out that's ok as they really aren't necessary anyway. Look at your manual. If you have to remove the axle, it slides right out after you unhook the obvious stuff. Save the shims behind the brake backing plate if any are present.
