Got a problem getting the shaft out, that holds the hydraulic lift rocker on. After 49 years of residing outside, it seems to be rusted solid. Have'nt budged it yet. I'm figuring ZANE could remove this thing blindfolded...I'll settle for a good way to do it with my eyes wide open.
Neal and I have been brainstorming. We both got the same problem.
Any help is appreciated.
Sandy

I'm restoring a 51 TO-20. I had the same problem. I used "Aeor-kroil", a penetrating oil made by Kano Laboratories in Nashville. I was lucky. The shaft would move about 1/32" either way (with a tap from a 5 lb sledge) and I worked the oil in by moving bumping the shaft back & forth. Took me a week.

When all else fails you can always use some red hot from the torch to burn away rust. Just hear it till it is red hot and then let it cool on it's own to room temperature and don't cool it with water or oil. After it is cool put on some penetrating oil and I'll bet it will come righ off.
By the way, Have either of you bought one of my position control,"ZANE THANG" devices so that you can throw away all that limiting chain etc stuff on the lift?????

Zane

Haven't really tried anything yet as I've only had the Fergie a few weeks and have been having to much fun. I will give the old hot wrench a try. As for your invention, I read your description but would like to see some pictures before I buy. I think you wrote that you were patenting it and if thats why no pictures, no problem. Do you have any e-mail address's for people who have purchased? Thanks for your help.

Neal

Just post the question on the N board "What is the ZANE THANG and does it really do what Zane says it will" and then just stand back and start reading.

Talk about your quick response. Thanks.
As soon as I get out from all my got tos, I'm going to give this a try. I had thought about it, but was'nt quite sure that was the way to go. I didn't want to do any damage. The thought of having those bosses break off sorta traumatized me.
