Carberator question. My idel mix screw does not change when all the waw out it still runs very lean I have good fuel flow Will a worn out throtel shaft be the problem ?I have two carbs both clean with new flots and valves but both have play in the shaft to the butterfly has any body have the same problem with this and what was the problem?

To see if the worn butterfly shaft is causing the problem, spray a bit of WD40 or similar on the shaft. If there the idle speed changes then that is causing the problem.

Had the carb done on my Fergie last fall , you would not believe it is same tractor . A carb overhaul is worth it ---Bill

Sounds like it`s drawing in air at the butterfly shaft. Carby kit needed.
Great care needed to drill out the outside of the bush so that the new nylon bush is a nice tight fit. Probably wont need to do the inside bush.
Also there is probably wear in all the throttle linkages. Round them up as best you can and make little nylon bushes and firm the joints with washers and new cotter pins. There can also be a bit of wear in the governor and some other minor adjustments made . Advice or reference to a workshop manual may be needed
