I know, another hydraulic question! But I just spent the last couple hours reading through the posts about hydraulics and I havent't seen this one yet.

Dad's 35 sat idle for about a year. I would start it about every couple of months for him. Once the lift arms stuck up and wouldn't come down. He even raised the front of the tractor trying to force it down. Eventually he got it to drop, I am unsure how he did it.

Ever since this, the lift still works and is very strong, but!! This is strange to me, it will only lift about half way. Then when I move the draft lever all the way down the lift goes full up and you can here the pump knock. While in this position the quadrant lever is useless, its position does not matter.

Raise the draft lever all the way up, then the lift lever will drop the load and raise it up again slightly.

Now, finally, my question, what does the draft lever do? Could this be the relief valve?

I changed the fluid for the lift and as you guessed, it was milky and I used TSC "Uni-fluid" so as I learned tonight, I have the wrong fluid in it. Lift still does the same.

I have an IT manual for it and will probably tear it down myself, just thought you guys could give me a few hints.

Hi

The Draft control is used for maintaining an even plough working depth. Sounds like you want to use the position control. To use position control you want the draft control set around 2/3 the way up(Towards rear). At the extreme ends of the draft control you will get strange results.

If the position control doesn't work when the draft is set to 2/3, then you may have an adjustment problem.

Good luck.
