I am new to this site and just bought a ferguson Serial # TEA 403698 Motor # SC78510E. The previous tells me that it is a Model TEA 20 is this correct. Does this have standard Motor? Also what year might it be. The motor has low oil pressure (5 psi) that is why he parked it 2 years ago. I noticed that there is a bypass adjustment where the oil fitler is, I still will check the engine bearings. Also where are parts available in Canada. Thanks in advance

Yes you are right, you have a Ferguson TEA-20 made in 1954 fitted with a engine made by the STANDARD MOTOR Co Ltd in Coventry England.
The tractor was built in England at the Banner lane works in Coventry and exported all over the world.
As to parts in Canada.I have an address of a Publisher of a Ferguson newsletter in Canada if it helps, I'm sure they will carry adverts for parts. Also a firm called Vapormatic have outlets in the States and Canada.
If you need origanal part no.s for your TEA-20 I have a very good book isued by a firm called Sparex who make all parts for the TE 20s giving their part no. as well as the origanal no.

The site below lists salvage yards in North America. You may locate ID information about your tractor on the unofficial Harry Ferguson website link at the bottom of the H. Ferguson page. Harry Ferguson tractors do not have an accurate oil pressure gauge, if it registers any pressure and the rocker arms are'nt clattering you should be safe operating it.

I have a 1947 TEA the oil pressure drops to zero after about 10 minutes running...havent heard any bangs yet !
