My old Radiator rotted out and (would not hold pressure). Replaced it, now my TO-30 uses a pint or so of water when I use it (3-4 hrs run time). Holds pressure on the cap for weeks after it has run. No water in Oil. It also blows steam from the exhaust if you kill the engine while hot and restart within a few minutes? Any ideas?

Now that you have pressure in the cooling system, you state that steam is present around the exhaust manifold area. I have a sense you know where to look next. You will want to look that area over real close for any rust signs which can be a crack in the head. Perhaps you get lucky and it is only a head gasket. I assume you have a continental z129 engine.

I have not taken a continental apart and have run across engine designs, such as my packard, that have the intake and exhaust bolts that are tapped all the way through the head into the water jacket. I hope the continental did not give you that challenge of figuring out the right type of sealant to use. Best of luck.
