A few weeks back I was plowing with my TEA20 Ferguson in 2nd gear and all of a sudden clouds of smoke started coming out of the muffler. Oil was also spraying out and since the muffler is located on the bottom of the tractor the plow was sprayed with oil. I did not notice any sudden loss of power or noise when this happened. Any ideas or advice?

Check for fouled up spark plug to get an idea which could be the troublesome cylinder.
Worn bores or piston rings?
Oil passing down from top of cylinder head worn valve guides, faulty valves?
Check oil level on dipstick before using again.

I'll check the plugs next time I go to my farm. I spoke to a mechanic and he said it sounded like a piston broke but said in that case there would be noise and a noticable loss of power.
