I just tuned up my grandfather's '55 TO35 & replaced the carb w/A rebuilt one. Started her up ran great for 30 sec & died. I noticed slow fuel flow to bowl, pulled tank & flushed (tons of sediment), cleaned screen & fuel line to carb. Started her up, ran great for 2 min (got up to 160 degrees)& started missing, then really started missing! I noticed a bubble of air at the top of the bowl, can this be the problem? How would I fix this? I've tightened everyhing I could tighten, no go. I'm thinking about scrapping the bowl & running straight to the carb w/a in line filter. Any thoughts out there?

loosen the fuel bowl till fuel fills it then retighten it. If you have lots of rust in tank and you run direct you will have dirt in carb for sure. You can clean and reline the tank fairly cheap with Kreem or Por 15 also inside the sediment bowl assembly can get dirt that is very hard to get out regards
