Oil Pressure Gage Working?

The oil pressure gage on my TE-20 reads 10 psi and does not move running or not.

I presume the gage has failed. But how do I really tell if it is the gage or in the line. The line goes from the gage to the motor. I did not see any wear to suggest cracks.

Also there is an amp meter on the dash (left side) was this standard? It also does not seem to be hooked up.

Jeff

Jeff, Guage most likly shot, but I check them by hooking the gauge to a line on my air compressor.
I attach a regulator and slowly raise the pressure and compare the oil guage to the air pressure guage.
Elimininates questions about the gauge.
Good Luck
Joe

Pull your line off at gauge and turn the motor over. Be sure to pull the coil wire off to so it will not start. If your oil pump is working and line is good, oil should pour out. Then check at the block if need be.

I agree with John. The oil line may be plugged and/or the gauge. These gauges are not accurate, as long as they show some pressure and move with engine rpm don't worry. You will find a schematic on the Harry Ferguson page links ( the unofficial Harry Ferguson page) to correctly wire the ammeter gauge and all the original electrical system.
