TO 20 lift bounces

Need help---My TO 20 will lift my disk just fine but when it's picked all the way up, it just bounces! It will keep the bouncing up untill I ease the quadrant stick down about half way and then it will quit bouncing. Is this the relief valve or the punp? Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you have the proper fluid and proper amount of fluid, I'm guessing the relief valve rather than the pump. Since it picks the implement up fine, I believe pump is ok.

Hi Phil, my TO20 does about the same thing. It will bounce all the way up. Then as soon as you push in on clutch or turn motor off it will slowly go back down. Whats gives? Relief valve? Sometimes I can hear a loud thumping sound from inside, sounds like it might be the pump or can something else make noise?

Not sure about thumping, but I'd definitely want to look inside. Does sound like you need a relief valve, about $25, but you may have other problem(s) too. Remove right side access cover and look inside while running and check it out. You may have to drain a little fluid first, but not much. Ray (IN) has been able to change relief valve without draining, but I can't seem to get the hang of that and I seem to need to use the drain hole to help me access it (one hand inside via side access and wrench thru bottom drain is way I've done it). Whatever works for you, but if you drop front wheels in ditch or some such you might be able to do it his way and save some time and trouble.

Should be about $25. The Ford 9N one works too, although Ray(IN) says the pressure relief is slightly different, but probably not enough to make a difference to most of us. So if you can't find it at MF, try NH.

Have the same problem with my tea20 my advice is that there is probably a bit of something not letting the valve work properly and removing and cleaning might do the job
