I have a 1962 Model Massy-Ferguson 14-inch double bottom plow with two coulters and the "furrow wheel". I have tried to use it to plow my garden with my Ferguson TO-30 but cannot get a satisfactory "turn over" with it. The plow itself is in excellent condition, not bent or warped. I am about to offer to trade it even, for a good single 14-inch or even a 12-inch Ford, Dearborn, Ferguson or some other quality plow. Any suggestions on how to check and be sure I have it set up properly on my tractor? (My only experience with plowing is with a single plow on a Farmall Super-A and that was mostly a "bolt on and go" deal). Thanks. Appreciate any input. WS

The owners manual for the plows shows the correct setup procedure if you can locate one. The plows, when at plowing depth, should run level. This means setting them down on level ground the plows will tilt forward about 2-3" depending on plowing depth desired. They will also sit tilted to the left on level ground; they will run level with the right drive wheel in the furrow of the previous pass. This may be adjusted with the leveling box lever if necessary, but the plow beam should be adjusted permantly to accomplish this. A search of this forum may discover previous discussions. That's my thoughts, perhaps another will have better help.
