My conversion was relativley easy. Bolted on a selfregulating alternator($40 AUD at the local wrecker) and ran a suitable wire to the + side of the battery via an ampmeter, ran a wire to the igniton switch via a light to excite the coil (one with a bulb not a LED) and cut the power wire to the old regulator. The light goes out when the alternator starts charging. Had to find a suitable pulley for the alternator and get it machined to fit and add an extension bit to the belt tensioner. You may be lucky and find an alternator with a suitable pulley allready on it. The pulley size is not critical as long as it fits the belt. It worked for me Laurie
