I'd like to know if anyone has tested both of these items and determined which one is the better item for the money.

Just a little note to say thanks for the position control device. I installed on my T0-20 and adjusted as specified and..... ..... .
it works GREAT! I would gladly recommend to anyone in need.

I bought th ZANE THANG about 2 years ago. I have been very happy with it. I am not very mechanicaly inclined and had no trouble putting it on. It works good after you get it adjusted. It is a very simple concept. It works great for my Bush Hog. I looked at the Fergie position control and best as I can tell from the picture I think they are both doing the same thing only the ZANE attaches to the top of the arm and the fergie attaches to the bottom. The only bad thing about the Zane is that it sometimes catches my elbow because it attaches to the top and there is a steel rod that sticks up. Hope this is helpful. Rob

I have a Fergi positioner. It is so simple to install and use. I have been using my tractor for bushogging, and it works great. The only downfall was that you had to send to Australia for it. Soon it will be available in the US. If you need info about it email me. Thanks Shawn

Where and how soon have you heard it will be available in the US? I have been looking into getting position control for my TO20 and was going to get a Zane Thang eventually but would like to check out all options. How much did the Positioner cost?

As the UK reseller for the Fergy Positioner I have to say that I have only had positive feedback from customers. The Positioner fits onto the tractor easily and works well. There is no way that the user will injure or bump themselves on the additional parts.

I hope that you have many hours enjoying your Fergy.

I bought a Zane Thang last winter and installed it easily. My feeling is that it is stiff to operate and I too find that the rod hits me in the elbow sometimes when I am raising an implement to maximum height.

Also the red metal plate has a tendency to bend out and the two clips don't successfully keep it in place. I am thinking of returning it but will have some conversation with Zane first 'cause maybe I am doing something wrong here and it could be easily adjusted.

What is the Cdn price of the Aussie unit?

Loosen your Thang up a little. Check your lift lever spring pressure too. You want it just tight enough so it won't drift by itself. I ran mine too tight for a couple of days and got real smart after that. Now it's almost effortless and still holds. As far as hitting the bar, I don't have to pull my lever all the way back to get full height. Hmm, problem adjusting my quadrant maybe (?), but it works great.

You are absolutely right! I contacted Zane directly and he said the same thing. I guess the instructions were pretty clear but unfortunately, I misplaced them between the time I installed the THANG and when I started to use it. It works like a dream now and I withdraw any implication of negativity I may have expressed with my earlier post. Now what about that LIVE THANG. Now that I am using my Fergie with a bush hog I can really see the value of the live hydraulics. Has anyone installed it.
