do all TO-35s have live PTO? i'm looking at a 35 to buy, to replace my TO-30, which does not have live PTO. the pto shaft spins slowly on the 35 whether i have the clutch in or not, and i don't want to grab it to see if it's really engaged or not. so, should i be able to tell easily just by the feel of the clutch, or can i tell by the serial no (SGM-I72I37). thanks for any help you can give me.

TOM

since posting my message 10 minutes ago, i did the right thing and checked the archives. i got some conflicting info., but it seems as if this tractor would have live pto as the serial no. is preceeded by letters 'SGM". does the M for sure mean dual stage clutch?

thanks

Is it a "Deluxe" or a "Special"? Does it have the two speed rear end? I think, but not sure, that the 35 "specials" did not have the two speed rear. The 35 "deluxe" I know does have the two speed rear and does have the two stage clutch, so that might be the telling point, but others may be able to help further.
