Overheating problems...what happened?

I have a TO20 with a bad radiator. I used it on a cold day to cut some grass and it seemed to be doing fine for the first hour. Then I slowed down to head towards the barn and water started gushing out of the fuel pump.

I let it cool, added more water and it ran fine again for awhile, then gushed more water out the pump.

what is happening here, why does the water come out of the pump?

Unless you got a hole in a hose next to the pump you must have lost your seal in the shaft or blew out the gaskit on the pump mounting base. You need to remove your fan belt and see if you can wiggle the shaft (play in it) and see if it turns with out a grinding feel. You will probley need to replace the water pump. Mark H.
