Where doe's the positive earth lead go on my tractor because when i push the gear lever into the start position the fuel line gets hot, so i think that conection is bad, the existing lead goes from the positive terminal on the battery to the bulk head (fire wall).

Mik -

PLEASE DO NOT START YOUR TRACTOR until you fix it.

You have a potential bomb there.

The problem is corrosion along the current path from the cable connection through the tin work to the engine. Current is finding an easier path through the fuel line, and even though it's diesel, it can explode.

I'd suggest a longer ground cable, routed to a heavy bolt on the engine - probably the easiest access will be one of the engine to bell housing bolts. Our 35's are all connected at one of these points.

A bolt on the transmission cover will be equally effective.

Good luck!
