I am about to tear down my TO35 to give it a fresh coat of paint along with replace the gasket where the coolant enters the top of motor. I feel it runs well, oil pressure is 20 @ idle and mid 20's accelerated with no blue smoke. while checking spark plugs yesterday I discovered the #2 showed signs of oil on the plug. I cleaned all and ran for a few minutes, again pulled each plug, all where dry except #2. Have yet to do a compression test as was dicussed ealier in this forum. Is it worth the $ and effort to tear completely down to repair what could be only one cylinder? Appreciate any and all advice. Thanks in advance. Terry

Terry; I have a to35 that is APART! They are known for cracked blocks! Mine is cracked between the clys. I don't know if I should look for a good block(if you could find one) or see if I should pin this one, or weld it. Anyway, they where 4 plug exteners in my engine! They do work, and you only need one. Or try the next heat range plug. Good Luck Bob

If you really like to tinker, if you've torn an engine down before and you have the tools, time and money go ahead.

If it runs and does what you ask of it I wouldn't bother. The more you look for in these old tractors, the more you'll find.
