Been hunting for a mf 35 to mow and rake hay with which one is more easy on billfold a gas or diesel? How easy starting are they? Any body seen one for sale? whats a fair price? What is their weakness, that I should look for?

I have a gas TO35 Deluxe with Z134 Continental engine. It is a great tractor, very versatile, very reliable. Price in my area for decent one is maybe around $3500, depending on condition of course. That price is about same as for Ford NAA or 600, and it is more tractor than those since it has the two speed rear and the double stage clutch and PTO can be engine or ground speed. I suspect the gas is easier to work on and easier to start, and the diesel probably is easier on fuel and may last longer between overhauls, but that's speculation not personal experience.

Go to Big Deans web site. He has lots of information on what to look for when buying a Ferguson/Massy Ferguson tractor. I think his web site is in the links section of this page but if not I'll look for it. I can't remember it right off my head right now.
