I Think I have a TO-30?

When I purchased our 25 acres I had the tractor included in the sale. That was three years ago, and I have hauled a lot of logs for fire wood with it. But now it is stuck in first gear, while the shifter is in neutral and I can't shift or start it with the gerar shifter. ( It came with two wires hooked up to the starter/battery so I can hot wire it)
Anyway, I want to order the manual for it, but I'm not sure what model it is. The serial plate is unreadable, and from checking out other photo's on the web it looks more like the TO-30. (Smaller front wheel rims than the TE-20).
What other numbers could I look for, and is there anyone I could e-mail some photo's too, to identify it.

if the oil filter is on the side you say it is on, you most likely have a tea20. the oil filter will be on the left side of tractor(left and right are determined from in the seat) near the front, and inclined about 45 degrees. those numbers you found? do they start with an s?
let us know so we can help you more.

The oil filter is exactly where you say it is.
The numbers are on the right side and read:
OA12361 300606 (the best that I can figure they are, due to the coats of paint)

Mike,
That happens alot. You might try unscrewing the oil filler cap and take a long screwdriver or bar and slide one of the gear rods back. Look to see which one is moving when you giggle the shifter. Check page 2 under "stuck" on this site and youll see it happens often. If that dont work there are other trys. Good Luck.

Thanks Steve and Brent,
I envisioned anouther trany overhaul, I just had one done on my van ($1900, ouch)
I'll try your suggestion and let you know. One of my staff at work said the same thing, so I hope thats all it is.

I'm pretty sure that it's a TO-30. The oil filter is on the lower right hand side of the engine(right side when standing in front of and facing the trator) I'm not sure where the munufacturer's plate is though?. I can find some numbers on the left side of the engine block, but I don't believe they are the numbers I am looking for. I have to order the manual!!

Check the engine munufacturer plate. The TO30's had a Z129 engine. Also the TO30 has it's oil filter on the lower right hand side of the engine. I believe the TO20 had it's filter underneath in the pan. Regardless, my service manual addresses both the 20 and 30.
