Objects Found In Bellhousing.. What Are They?

I pulled the engine from my TO30 to take in for a rebuild (and yes, to repair the inevitable crack)and found some small thingies in the bellhousing. They're about 1 inch long, 1/4" thick and have a slight taper to them. There's 5 or 6 of them and appear to be some sort of fiber material. At a glance, the clutch and pressure plate seem OK and nothing seems to be missing from them. Anyone?

P.S. The crankshaft has about 200 thousands endplay. Please pray for me and the final bill.

My thoughts are with you Chuck as you go through this terrible ordeal! Have no idea what you found in the BH. I found a mouse nest in mine when I took it down. Thanks again for the plumbing picture.
