Saw Dust In Center Housing

Pulled the transmission to repair a small hole in the housing on my te 20. There was about 4 cups of something that looked like sawdust in the center housing. The stuff was sort of preventing the oil from leeking out thru the hole in the case. I have heard of people putting saw dust in transmmision. First time seeing it.

You may be sure the sawdust is in everything, including the hyd. system. I'd flush and clean everything out. Then, look for why the sawdust was used. The trans,hyds,diff, all use a common oil resivoir.
