TE20 Brakes

Called the brake shop last week told owner I wanted to get my brake shoes relined. He said bring on in well a week later I took them in and he had a set already made up that matched mine perfectly. Now here's the problem reinstalled and brake's are very tight, my question is this all pictures I've seen for TE20 shoes show only a round hole at one end where they attach to backing plate. The problem I don't understand is the shoes I took off and the replacements given back to me have this hole but it is not entirely round, the side of the hole facing inward of the curvature of shoe is kinda oblong shaped this is not wear it's made this way. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be this way or do they fit something else 9N 2N etc. I have nothing to compare to.

I think the holes your talking about are to accomodate the the hold down pins (or Steady pins)I think they're oblong because the action of the shoe is not uniform but pivoting at one end. The oblong hole allows for slop in the shoe action. I think!
