Has anyone set the pump timing with the camshaft gear? Could you give me the procedure?

turn engine until # 1 piston is coming up on compression stroke.insert a 1/4 inch rod in the timing hole on the left side of the flywheel housing, and continue turning until the rod aligns with and slides into the coresponding hole in the face of the flywheel.this positions the crankshaft at the initial timing of 16 degrees btdc for # 1 piston.now insert the pump drive gear into the adaptor housing so that, when completely seated, the master spline is inclined at an angle of 45 degrees toward the engine block.(approx.at 1:30 on a clock)when drive gear is properly positioned, install adaptor bushing so that locating hole aligns with the threaded hole and install bolt.install pump.
