TE-20 Generator different from a TO-20??

Anyone have a TE-20 tractor with the TE style generator that has a long bracket built into the gen pully end with a smaller one bolted onto the gen. a few inches away from it. These brackets on the gen. bolt on to a bracket that goes between the block and the front axle assembly mount. Is this what they call a lucas Generator? Or is it another type of mounting one. There are several types and this was the way it was mounted on a TO-20. No name plate on the Generator. Any Help? Thanks, Mark H.

Mark,
That thick mount you are talking about has 2 holes in it, the one close to generator is slotted for adjustment.

Hi Mark

The TO20 and the TE20 have the same generator mounting,as you have discribed. The TO30 has a different mounting system.The TO20 and TO30 use the delco 3 brush gen.The TE20 uses the lucus 2 brush gen.Look at the brushes,if 3 then it's a delco ,if 2 then a lucus.Good Luck

Hi Bill; Yes I did nice plane!!, you get mind yet? My TO-30 Generator is the 3-brush type and mounts with a strap bolted on the block with 2-bolts into the side and a strap for the adjusting bolt. My mounting strap is about 8-9 inches long, 1 1/4 inches wide and bent out one each end. So then is it the original way to mount a TO-20 Generator done with the mount that is bolted between the block and the axle mount samwiched between the two and using the BIG Bolts that hold the whole front Axle assembly on with and the adjustment is on the bracket that is part of the generator? My book shows that one for the TE-20? Help?? Again? Mark H.

The 3rd brush in the delco controls the maximum output of the generator, and the 2 brush lucas output is controlled completely by the voltage regulator.

Mark,
I just looked in my Ferguson manual TO20 and TE20 used the same thick mount on front of generator, delco generator on to20 and lucas generator on te20 manual shows picture same mount delco nameplate is showing on generator on to20 picture. Also shows to30 using different setup with slide adjustment bracket on top of generator.
