I have just purchased a 1956 TO35 with a Lord loader and some kind of backhoe. There appears to be a spot for a power take off on the lower end of the rear differential, but I need to know more about this. My aim is to be able to use it as a utility tractor with a Woods mower and a Howard rototiller, both of which are three point hitch systems. Can anyone help me out on this?

Thanks

Bruce Stewart

Bruce, I have a 57' TO-35, w/a tiller & box scrapper. Looking to pick up a loader to handle lgt-med work around the place. Im worried that my wife w/spend my remaining tractor money on the current kitchen remodeling project. Have you had a chance to utilize the loader? Preform ok? Is it strong? I need to get in gear & make a decision B/4 I'm forced to turn all my alum cans in!!!!! Enjoy! Steve

Bruce:
The pto shaft on your tractor will handle most pto implements if they are light to medium duty . if yout tractor is a Deluxe model you will have "live" or "Multi' power. To find this out engage your pto shaft using the lever on the left side behing your foot on the gearbox. Put your tractor in gear and release the clutch to move forward the shaft will turn, put your clutch down just far enough to stop the tractor but not all the way-if your pto continues to turn you have live power, push the clutch to the floor and the pto should stop.
One warning about a loader on a to-35 for Bob the internal pump is only 2.5-3 gallons per minute and the loader will be slow, choose one with a small ram to casing sixe which requires less fluid to fill the cylinders. a front mount pump is the answer but can get expensive!
