I was glad to hear of the scam about paying more than the asking price ..then wanting you to send the difference, on to a shipper, in cash ..... thought I was the only one!!! When it happened to me I just didn't respond, but the next time I will have them send the check .... I would like to see a phoney cashers check ..... I wonder how the bank could not know in just a day or so that it is phoney? If I wrote a check that was an overdraft, they would know it before I left the store !!!!

I have had the same thing happen to me. I am glad I read this forum. My gut was telling me these prospective buyers were full of crap but they were like flies at a picnic. I finally have just told them all the tractor is sold. One however keeps persisting so my latest email to him was to let him know I did not just fall off of the turnip wagon. Hopefully now he gets the idea!
Thanks for your help.

I received a check for $3000. for a $700. set of fenders. When they are primarily concerned with their 'change', and not what they are buying, beware. If they can not send you what the item is priced at, they send 'extra' and you send the extra back, beware. You will also notice that they do not want a check like they sent you. They want Western Union, or some secure payment, which is not how they want to pay you. If it does not make good sense, do not do it, is the best rule.

I am interested as to the fair market value to a 1941 Allis-Chalmers Model C tractor. It is all original and runs good. Serial # C50756.
