How do I check if the reg is charging properly. I have a multimeter. what wires do I connect the leads to and what should it read. this is for a 1953 farmall cub.

I need to know what type reg.you have.Delco,autolite etc and the model# if any.fyi
the source i'm using is the motors trkand tractor

1. At the regulator, connect a jumper between the GEN and BAT terminals and start the tractor. If the ammeter indicates charging, the regulator is defective.

2. Connect a jumper between the F (field) terminal and GROUND (the tractor chassis). The ammeter should indicate charging. If not, the regulator is defective.
