I replaced the bearings and seals in the water pump of my 1950 Farmall H. I need the packing that goes in the front, around the shaft, behind the brass nut that screws over the shaft. Does someone know what the material is, and where I can get some! Thanks, Grant Michigan

I'm working on the same problem. The packing consists of 2 felt washers. I got them at Archbold Equipment Company, Topeka, IN 1-800-842-6755.

I have a question for you. I'm having trouble removing the driver pin from the water pump shaft. This must be removed to back out the brass packing nut. Is the driver pin threaded? Or is there a trick for its removal?

Can you tell me the trick to removing the driver pin from the end of the water pump shaft. I have removed a jam nut, but the pin won't budge. Is the pin threaded?

Bruce, The driver pin is smaller on the nutted end than the other end so loosen the nut some and use a brass hammer on the nut to push the pin out of the driver. Be careful so you don't damage the threads on the driver pin.//FB
