Went out and looked at mine. It is a 1956 100 and it has "Mcormick-Deering" in small letters and Farmall in larger letters. I know it came from the dealer this way when it was new.

Where are you located? The name plates might vary by where the tractor was shipped to.

You're right - my Farmall 100 has just "McCormick" stamped into the plate that sits above the "Farmall" insignia.

I think the Deering name was dropped off the machines after World War II(1947? 1948?). Not quite sure about the exact year, though.

There was just a bunch of postings on this about a week ago. Cant remenber which board. Maybe someone can point you in the right direction. The meat of it was, dont replace the ID Tag unless you can document the tractor serial number.

I think he's talking about the metal name plates that are found on the sides of the hood of this model and not the ID tag.

For example my IH 45O has "McCormick" in small metal letters with "Farmall" in larger metal letters on each side panel in the hood with "450" in metal letters farther forward and the "IH" emblem in in metal letters on the front of the hood.

They are constructed of stamped aluminum.

If anyone can help him I also need a source of these emblems.

Where would I find one of these stores in and around Detroit Michigan? (Farm Quality Store)

I have seen them at Quality Farm and Fleet. Also, Joes Farmall Parts has them.
