the carb has had new needle and gaskets. Starts but won"t stay running. gas just runs out of the carb. Acts as if it is being flooded. any ideas.

Float may be bad and have a hole in it. Or it could be sticking either will cause that problem. Or you may not have the float set correctly. Alos if the new needle is a rubber tipped one you may need to set it in the seat for it to seal as it should. To set it you open the carb., remove the float. Drop the needle into the seat and tap it a couple times with something that will fit in that area. Also the seat has to be good and tight or it can leak past it and cause that problem

Make sure the float is not dragging on the side of the bowl. Bernie Steffen
