Chuck,I have restored several 12 &14,mostly used the old sleeves and installed new rings,Absulutly no problems,On my F14 I installed new sleeves and rings, and the motor is tight becaues of compression,It would start when you pulled it but not by hand.I installed a starter system on it and cured my problem.I later found the proper timing mark on the flywheel, and it starts very quick,The timing is critical. After working the motor a little I beleive it will loosen up some
