Super M trans apart, questions

Trans and rear are completely apart now. I'm in the process of getting new bearings and seals. I never would have guessed that the bearings were built to metric dimensions!

Anyway, does anyone know an aftermarket bearing part number for the transmission pilot shaft? I haven't called the dealer yet out of fear. I haven't taken it in physically anywhere yet; wanted to check here first.

I've found everything else from bearing supply houses and am currently shopping prices. The local bearing place has been higher than most. Any suggestions on bearing suppliers? Anyone you've had good luck with?

Same question on bushings for reverse idler and pto shaft pilot.

get the pilot bearing from your ih dealer, it's not that high. ball bearings are metric because the germans were the first to perfect the process of manufacturing them.

After calling just about every bearing house in Mpls.-St Paul, I found an aftermarket input shaft pilot bearing for my H. It lasted about two weeks then I got to take everything apart and replace it.

Go for the CIH bearing. They last quite a bit longer.
