Does the front end of the 656 drawbar mount to the underside of the trans case similar to how a M drawbar mounts???

If so maybe something like this may work. I don't know how much tounge weight ya might be needing to deal with, BUT

Maybe ya could get the lower peice of a 656 Drawbar from a salvage yard, and make something up to do what ya want. If ya can get this 656 bracket assembly:

Ya might be able to take a peice of 1/2" x 4" X (? lenght) angle iron and weld it to the frontside (foward of the PT0) onto the flat bar that is now on the saginaw assembly. Then make up a mount to hold the 656 part from the salvage yard.

If ya think it might not be heavy enough, weld a 1/2" X 2" X (? lenght) peice of angle to the upper rear side of the flat bar for extra support???

#1 would be the angle iron, and #2 the bracket part from a 656 drawbar.

Just thinking out loud, BUT that has been known to cause me a lot of work lately.

Sorry for not getting back before now, working doubles and we can't use the puters at work for anything other than work related crap.

As ya can tell I ain't no artist!!!

Bruce

around here everyone uses that extra iron to hold extra hitch pins! i thought they work pretty nice for getting forage wagons up close to the blower when the blower tractor is a little wide.

The telescoping type uses a 'double drop' with a different bolt pattern at the tug bolster to clear the rearend. That's gonna be a problem.

So, now I'm back to figuring out how to adapt a 1" standard drawbar, which has the needed bends.

Anything to get rid of that swinging drawbar. IH's biggest waste of iron ever in my view.

Allan
