its a 301 gas motor as used in the 806 tractor, the combine had hier compresion and also ran more RPMS, it was rated at 117 HP but rquired premium fuel.

My dad and uncle bought one new in about 1975. Good little bean machine but worthless in corn over 150 bpa. Not enough cleaning capacity. You couldn't go slow enough to avoid putting corn over the back. I suppose with something like a 3 row and 100 to 150 bu corn you would be okay, but I would think it would be more trouble than it was worth. I think your best bet is to find someone who can use the motor in a tractor.

They were a very good combine, but they are old enough now that they have very little monetary value. If you have a need for it, keep it. Otherwise, the engine is at least similar to, and can be used in maybe a 560, 706, etc., so if you have no use for the combine, sell the engine, and then sell the rest of it to a scrap dealer.

Well I don't know what engine they used but a neighbor had a gasser 715 and harvested about 600 acres corn and beans every year with very little problems. He bought it new and took very good care of it. Used it from new until he traded it for a brand new 1660. So I don"t know how many years that would be but if you talk to him today he will tell you 715 was a more reliable machine than the 1660.
