Pulled the plugs and have good fire to all 4. It fires on possibly 2 cylinders but can"t get enough to run on its own. Pulled the carb and found the butterfly bent and had been welded and as a result not perfectly round. Also the main jet in the center is open but the small one close to the front is plugged somewhere inside the body. Any resources as to parts for this carb?

It's got a distributor and not a mag and only guessing at the firing order of 1243. Not blowing oil from the cup out. Is there any way of seeing if the the baffels inside the manifold are opening with just the carb off?

Firing is 1342 The shaft rotates with the butterflys in the manifold, so looking at it tells the story. Did it sry to start better with the propane? JimN

Havent gotten the carb on yet, still soaking to clear clogged port. Went to caseih.com and downloaded parts breakdown and now understand manifold system, just need to prove its functioning properly.

Also the distributor turns CCW so it would appear
3-1
4-2
if you are looking at it from the rear

You probably have the plug wires wrong, as Chuck said. Another possibility is that the magneto is 180 degrees out of time. The Mag rotates counter clockwise, opposite of what one normally thinks. The points cam only has two lobes with a 2:1 ratio gear in there to turn rotor at proper speed thus timing can be 180 out. If you are blowing oil back out the air cleaner when trying to start, one of these is likely your problem.

If it fires on only two cylinders I would make sure the spark plug wires are installed corectly as the diesel mags and distributers rotate the opposite direction as gas models.

Try using a propane torch with the tip removed to supply raw propane to the intake while cranking. If this makes it go, it is the carb. That butterfly is the choke, There is no throttle in it. Good luck. JimN

Parts for the F8 carb are available from OEM anmd maybe from Rusty Farmall. They are a bit expensive, but cheap if they make your tractor run. Good Luck.

OEM's number is 1-800-283-2122.

OEM directed me to Bates Corp. Had everything I needed, some used most new. Had to sacrifice wifes valentine fund.
