I converted my Super M over to 12 volt. Now it will fire but it won't run. I used Robert Melville's wiring digram.

Ryan - Presuming your wiring is correct and the plugs are not fouled there's two things I would check:

1 - Ignition timing. If the distributor's very much out of time the engine can pop and fire but won't run. Static timing for the Super M should be 0 deg (= TDC).

2 - Coil. If you used a so-called "12 volt" (internally ballasted) coil AND a series ballast resistor, the combination will cause current thru the coil to be too low to give good fire at the plugs. Simply eliminate the series resistor and you'll get a nice, hot spark.

It ran fine before I rewired it, and I used the orginal coil.
