I posted twice on here about my 45 H missing and spitting gas from the bottom of the carb. Wouldn't rev and had no power. First post I guessed it was a stuck valve. Responses indicated probably water in mag cap. Second post responses were more towards water in cap, vandalism?, and valve stuck. Today I pulled the spark plug wires, isolated the cylinder and then pulled the valve cover. One of the rocker arms had come completely off the push rod. Guess I need to adjust the valves. I pried it back on and it runs perfect. I'll adjust the valves when the weather warms up a bit.

Had the same type of problem on a B I was working on for a guy. I had poured transmission fluid in the exhaust before I hauled it home just to get a head start on the repairs and by the time I was ready to start it up the valves had freed up and all I had to do was pt the push rods back on and adjust the valves. The little thing purrs now. The guy said it has been about 10 years since it last ran

A sticky valve will stay down allowing the pushrod to fall out of its socket. The valve people were correct. Fresh good quality detergent oil 10-40 automotive grade, would be my recommendation. JimN

Glad you found the problem. We can all learn from each other's tractor adventures.
