What size is the nut that holds the steering wheel on a SMTA? Also, is it a fine thread one?

If you want to dress it up a bit, I replaced mine with a 3/4" fine thead ss acorn nut and washer. I had to special order the nut from Fastenal ($10) and grind the o.d. of the washer to fit the steering wheel hub, but if you're not worried about keeping it original or spending a few extra bucks it sure looks sharp.

3/4 fine thread JAM nut. Standard hex nut will be too thick. Any good nut and bolt place should be able to fix you up, maybe even a local hardware store.

I looked at the parts manuals for the H through MD and the SM and SMTA. They show the steering wheel but not the nut. I had to replace the one on my C a couple of years ago. It seems like it was about a 3/4" fine thread. I would guess that the SMTA would be about the same size. I had to use an impact wrench to remove the nut and a puller to get the steering wheel off.
