here are a couple other options also for codes, i was digging around in our mixing system computer, here are some more colors (these are in diamont, but the can cross over to dbu. cms-8287a, then cms-8335k, the second is a shade darker. there are 3 options also available, first is 40-darker, next is 45-darker and blue, last is option 48-darker and red. maybe those will help too. confusing????aint it!!!

I used the PPG 71310 Acrylic enamal with hardner. My only complaint is the cost. About $80 a qtr. It's a little more orange than some people like. You can see it in the photo gallery Http://www.tractorshed.com/gallery/tphotos/a103081.jpg

There were at least 4 IH or Harvester reds: IH 50, 1936?-mid 1949; 1102B, 1949-1958; 201, 1958-1961; 2150, 1961--up. IH 50 is PPG 70093 (will come out to be a Chrysler color), 2150 is 71310. The formulation changes as you go from one line to another, ie Omni to Deltron to Concept, etc, I do not think the 70093 or 71310 changes, I have used only Omni. My dealer says he can't mix 1102B or 201. Bear in mind that due to formulation changes over the years none of these colors will, in my opinion, match the one that came on your tractor.

PPG has paint code 71310 for their IH red in the Omni single stage when the base coat and clear coat are applied in one application. It may be the same number used on their Deltron paint. Hal

cross over i-h 2150, the formula is available. are you shooting dau (deltron acrylic urethane) or dbu (deltron base coat urethane) with clear?

if you are not shooting in a booth and baking, you can use either dc3000 or dc4000 velocity clears. they are good air dry clears. there are a number of clears you can put over dbu.

isn't 4000 and 3000 way to quick to spray when your spraying such a large area, i was planning on using dcu2042 or even 2002, i have never sprayed 4000 and have only heard that it is extremely fast flash times

2150 crosses over to 71310 in dbu. dcu2042 or 2002 will also work, actually any urethane clear will work over the dbu. the 4000 and 3000 are very fast clears, they are production clears to put em thru the shop fast if you dont have a booth. now if you want a real slick clear, use the diamont dc92 clear, its the glamour clear, lays real smooth, no orange peel at all. we use it if we are doing a hot rod or show car, a lot less buffing compared to a production clear that will give some orange peel to match the texture on a factory finish.
