Hey guys I need your advice. I looked at a non running farmall cub. The cub has decent tires and a hand operated snowplow blade on the front. it is not painted or rebuilt in anyway engine wise or drivetrain wise. It will not come with anything except the snowblade. He wants $1500 for it. BTW It has a pto in the back not belt pulley.

Something else, I use an A with manual blade. We are looking for a storm ASAP. I fell on ice and hurt shoulder, who is going to horse that plow? Price is too high to me since when you do start it up something is going to be wrong. Otherwise they would have it running. Don't hear it run, assume the worst.

If you go to Photo ads, there is a fellow about 20 miles west of Springfield, IL has 2 running cubs, unrestored for the same price. One has a deck, one don't. Go to Photo ads, look in Illinois and you can find them. Look to be good little tractors.

The square hood has been sold to a collector in southern IL.

A cub with the hand lift may be an early 47. the first year that the cub was built. check the serial # on the radiater bolster. Also the early cub's were prone to cracking the radiater bolster.Just what I look for. The price is way out of line for a non runner but they are worth almost $1000 in parts.

Its price 2 or 3 time to much. Non running you never know what could be wrong with it. It could be locked up, have a rod knock etc. and if it does then it could well cost you $1600 or more just to get up and running. $500 is more like what it should go for

If he was selling it for $500 there would probably be a line of people a mile long waiting to buy it, me included.$500 cubs are few and far between in the condition described.$1000 would be a more realistic price,$1500 seems a little high.bill m.

Nonrunning without a mowing deck, I'd offer him half that. The little blade might be handy, but remember you only have 14 hp or so pushing it.

Since you say a hand lift blade, I assume it has no hydraulics. It is to high. You can buy a good running Cub with hydraulics for that.

I paid 1400 for my cub weights on the rear, extra parts, hydro with blade. I always said that i would never buy a Cub that was over 1500 and it took a awhile a few years not directly looking either but always had an eye out. A hand lift blade would really kill your back, those 54 blades are pretty heavy.
