I have a loader on an older JD tractor, 430U, Want to change valves so got a 2 spool valve, also got the power beyond plug for it. Open center. Current plumbing is pump to loader valve in, loader valve out to 3 point on tractor. There is a third hose from the bottom of the relief valve to the reservoir. On the new valve instructions it shows a line from the outlet with power beyond plug in it to next valve, in my case 3 point, and a second line to reservoir. I am not sure of the purpose of the line to reservoir. It Ts with second valve output. This is not a high pressure system, 1200 to 1500 max. If I use the line from Power beyond valve to 3point, which alrady bleeds to reservoir, do I need the second line? 3 point has worked fine as is without power beyond. Guess I am not understanding the whole thing. I thought as long as you had an open center system oil flowed through it until a valve was moved, then was directed to the load.

If you don't have that line to the reservoir, you will deadhead the system every time you use the valve. The power beyond only redirects pressurized oil to the next valve down the line. Any oil coming back in from the cylinder goes down a different path, which needs to dump back to the reservoir.
