Stopped and looked at a 1981, INt 1086 with what was left of the cab. Had a big pushing blade on the front. rear tires about half worn, couldnt really see the odometer maybe 56 0r 6600 hrs. Sign on the front said $6500.

Wonder what all is wrong with it at that price.

did have a hay fork on the back, dual pto,2 remotes. dont know anything about these tractors.Owner wasnt there.

Personally, I tend to judge the overall condition of the tractor by how they cared for the parts you can see... if the tin is beat up and the interior is shredded and missing windows - do you think they really bothered to change the oil in a timely manner? Do you think they've changed the hydraulic filters?

In my experience, I've not been burned yet on a tractor or vehicle that looked good on the outside.

I just sold my 1486 for $6000. Great tractor, but I couldn't get $7500 for it. The cab had some rust on the back corners. Good tires , ran great, 2 pto's , 3 remotes, good torque, etc. Here in Pa. and even on the YT site, I got no takers. All I heard was that they were bad tractors or it was too big or my price was too high. It was a lot of cheap HP. The problem is that not to many people have any free cash these days. They can buy if it is they can finance it.
I am buying less and less these days as the market is drying up quickly.
