I'm stuck down here in Houston until Jan 15, but my old hay hand, who is now out of college and too busy to help me, took off yesterday and drove from Oklahoma up to Missouri to pick up two tractors from a mutual accquaintance. These were the guy's dad's tractors, and he wanted to find them a good home, his sisters wanted them sold.Farmall Cub with belly mower. Hand says it is very straight, clean, good tires, excellent mower, bars on the grill and SS hood tags, red, so I am guessing it is late 1950's. I offered $1,300 sight unseen before knowing the condition, because the seller is a friend, but don't think I got hurt. John Deere D, straight with excellent fenders, PTO, a little rusty, loose, on rubber, rear wheels filled with concrete, one tire up, the other came up, been sitting 30 years in a barn, excellent front tires, fair rear tires, unstyled. I did not know the guy had this one, my hay hand had offered him $2,500 before I knew he had a tractor, but the hand couldn't come up with the money so I've just paid the most I've ever paid for a tractor, still sight unseen. Probably a little steep for that one, but it won't eat. All in all a good day, he got them to the house safely.
