Looks to me that you have a fast hitch frame 0n that tractor that has been adapted to cat. 1 3pt. Those 3pt. hooks (missing some latching parts by the way) should come out by removing a bolt or two and taking the fast hitch drawbar from the side rail and putting it in those sockits after removing the 3pt. hooks. I.H. never had a good place to store the fast hitch drawbar when not in use. Do not discard any of the 3pt. as you will want to use them later or you can sell them to somebody who can use them. Also you need a parts manual to help you understand whats missing. Most of my fasthitch experence is with 300, 400, and 560. If you have any more questions please ask. Armand

I have a 240 Utility with the same hitch. They were an option. Go to CaseIH website and check it out. David.third party image

Back hitch factory? Don't think so, looks like 3pt adapter parts- top link goes on inverted V welded to the old 2 point lower arm. Lower arm conecting ends look like they could handle Ford or Case implements. My 350D, brothers 560D have 2point hitches- the 3 point adapter we use for blade is inverted V with lower points to slide into 2point and ball hitch for implement, top of Invert V looks like your picture. Factory 3 points have a bracket at back/top of rear end for top link, 414s, 454s, British 275s were first IHCs with 3 point I think, Ferguson patent in England expired before American/Ford patent. A diamond in the ruff! 340D are few and far between and you will find it quite hard to find parts for the engine. These could be had with either fast hitch or the three point. With some adaptation, you can turn that present hitch into a fast hitch and use the piece that's bolted to the front bolster as the fast hitch drawbar. Good on you for saving a rare tractor from the crusher. I love mine.
