There is a Farmall A or super A, I'm not sure, for sale down the road from me. The man is askin $1800 for it. It looks as though it runs and has decent tires, but it isn't restored. I think he's asking to much. What do ya'll think?

My "A" is worth an estimated $600,00.00. It was my grandfathers, and I spent may hours on it as a child! Find out if it is the A, or Super A and report back. Also get the serial #. As some have stated if it is an A, not Super that may be a bit high.

Tyler: Farmall 100 serial number is on left side of clutch housing. Roughly a 2" x 4" tag rivited to the casting.

Tyler: I don't know your location, however if it's an A, too much money. If it's SA before serial number 325000, about right and if after that it's very reasonable. In fact if it's a 53 or 54 don't be surprised if it disappears within days.

Yes the hydraulics are the big difference between A and SA, however during SA production there were so many upgrades, the late model SA are much more desirable. In the 40 year production of A, SA, SA1, 100, 130 and 140, over half the ungrades occured during SA production.

I agree with CNKS
If it is a Super A it is handier, Either are fine workhorse modest sized tractors that have and will last a lifetime. Parts are no issue, and you are at the source of manuals and help. The A should be three to four hundred less, unless it sparkles pretty. JimN

For a Super A in good condition, that is a good ballpark figure; in some areas they sell for $3000+. For an A, IMO, that is too much, although the only difference is the SA has hydraulics -- makes it much more useful.

Im not sure what the difference from and A to a super A is. That might make a difference in the price. It always helps to find out exactly what your buying. This summer I saw a descent looking, running A with a belly mower sell on an auction for $1650 I keep thinking back and wished I bought it. Hope that helps. Good Luck
