Hey guys, I just rebuilt my W6 carb the other day got it all cleaned and put back together on the tractor, turned on the gas.....and everything leaks. I only replaced the needle and seat and the gaskets becuase my IH dealer said that a complete kit wasn't available. I'm gonna take it apart again and do it right this time with a full blown carb kit. Does anyone know if Napa sells these or have a part number for a comparable parts store. I'd really love to get the ole girl going before the snow flies. Thanks to all in advance.

Your dealer told you wrong. Complete kits are available through Case-IH. The problem is that those kits will cost you about $100. YT sells that same kit for about $35 or less, or you can go shopping on ebay and find the same thing. Rebuilding a carb is not as easy as most folks think.

If its leaking then more than likely something isnt right with the float or needle and seat. I dont think I have ever had to by the "complete" kit for a carb on one of these old things. The kits I buy have the gaskets, needle and seat, and packing for the main. I have never run across the need for any other set, not that I wont one day, but havent yet.
