i have a favor to ask. those who own or otherwise have access to a 685 or related tractor: could you direct me to or take a photo(or digital equiv) of the 3 pt hitch parts and the hydraulic aux valve assembly area? ours has neither on it right now , and i'd like to see what parts i'm in need of, what they look like, and how it all goes together. parts diagrams on cih are ok, but drawings aren't as clear as the real thing. i might be able to spot one in a junk pile or on ebay if i know what it looks like in the flesh.
you don't have to do this right away, just think of me in the next few upcoming weeks :)
thank you
karl f

Go to the case-ih parts site, you can look at the parts lists for the 685 and see exactly what you are missing.

i"ve been there as i mentioned, so i know what is missing, but i do not know what it really looks like, since sketches are conceptual. I also know the part numbers from being there, but neither a line sketch or part number helps in a salvage yard parts pile, flea market, or ebay.

Karl,

Isn't the 685 a 4 wheel drive German tractor?

No the 685 is a British built tractor, that replaced the model number 684. Came 2 or 4 wheel drive. Dad has one with a cab and it is 2 wheel drive.
