SC Plugs Fouling

My 52 Super C has always purred like a kitten. Yesterday, we hooked up the belt-driven grist mill to grind some corn. The SC idled nicely for a little while, but then began running roughly and eventually sputtered out. All plugs fouled. Removed plugs, cleaned them up, ran great for about 15 minutes, and again, all plugs fouled. Cleaned plugs a third time and limped it back to the barn. It would appear that the mixture is too rich, but there is no mixture adjustment on the Carter UT carb. Any ideas? I'm probably going to replace all plugs and distributor cap, rotor, points & condenser just for the fun of it, she hasn't had a tune up since restoration in 2002.
Thanks for any suggestions.

"The Super C idled nicely for a little while" The problem may be that tractor needs a good workout finding something to load it up and running for a hour or so at full throtle might clean things out. These tractors were designed for full throttle under load operation and need to be worked out sometimes.

check the air cleaner and all the plumbing. could be mice or mud dauber wasps built a cozy little home in there and plugged it up. if thats all clear, try running a hotter plug. i've gone up a couple numbers on the heat range on my old tractors because of fouling. read here that the new fuels foul the the plugs, if you run champs try d-18's or 3116 in autolites. also read here you can run up to a d-21, but thats a real hot plug.

Thanks. Air path is clean. I'm running D18Y's. Considered going to the hotter plug.

If you work it you should be running D15's. D 18's should be ok tho. You don't want to run any hotter if you work it as the hotter plug will preignite this cheap modern gas. I would tear that carb down and find out why its being overfueled.
