Going to go look at a 300 or 350 utility tomorrow with bad power steering and a loader. I have no interest in the loader (plan on removing it anyhow) and know that repairing the power steering is expensive. My question is: can the power steering be converted to manual for far less dollars and are parts to do so more common than the power steering parts?

Hydrostatic power steering was on (at least one) stock 350U Diesel. Drove it over many acres. Some IH combines had hydrostatic PS. that is the ticket if a 350UD can't be found. JimN

Aw, you sure?

Hydrostatic power steering came in about three generations later.

It might have been a one off example, but it was from the factory. My dad and the neighbor purchased them from the same dealer in the same week. JimN

Never seen hydrostatic on a 350 before. I have seen some with power steering, but not hydrostatic. Not saying there wasn't, just haven't seen any.
